Completing Onboarding
Onboarding walks you from a brand-new account to your first pin on a live site. It takes only a few minutes, needs no credit card, and ends with a project ready to collect feedback.
Before You Begin
Two things make the rest of onboarding smoother if you set them up first:
•Install the Chrome extension so you can drop and view pins on any site straight from your toolbar.
•Have the URL of the site you want feedback on ready — a staging or production address both work.
Setting Up Your First Workspace
Follow these steps in order. Each one carries you to the next, and the flow finishes as soon as you leave your first note.
1.Create your account with an email and password or with Google. New accounts start on a free trial, so you can explore every part of the flow before choosing a plan.
2.Complete the short onboarding flow that appears after sign-up. This confirms your details and sets up the space where your projects will live.
3.Create a project. Give it a name — the client or site name works well — and enter the site URL reviewers will comment on.
4.Install the feedback widget on your site using the install snippet shown for your setup. Once it is in place, the widget lets anyone with access leave pins on the live page.
5.Drop your first pin. Open your live site, click the exact spot you want to flag, and leave a note. Pinpoint automatically captures a screenshot, the page URL, the browser, and the viewport with it.
A guided walkthrough highlights the key areas of a new project the first time you open it. You can follow along to learn where the feedback board, widget setup, and members live.
What You Land On
When onboarding finishes, you arrive at your project's feedback board with a welcome view. From here you can:
•Invite teammates or clients and choose the access level each person gets.
•Return to widget setup to preview the widget's appearance or verify it is live on your site.
•Switch between the list and Kanban views as feedback starts arriving.
If the widget does not appear on your site, confirm the install snippet was added to the page you are testing and that the page has been redeployed. Verification only works on publicly reachable URLs, so a local-only address will not confirm as live.
