Dropping Visual Pins
A pin is a note attached to an exact spot on your live site. Instead of describing where a problem is, you click the element and type — Pinpoint records the surrounding context for you, so whoever picks up the feedback knows precisely what you saw and where.
To leave a pin, open the site in a browser where the Pinpoint widget is installed (or use the Chrome extension on any page you have access to), then click the spot on the page you want to comment on and write your note. Your pin appears on the feedback board the moment you submit it.
What Gets Captured Automatically
Every pin arrives with the details a reviewer or developer would otherwise have to ask for. You don't fill any of this in — it's read from your session at the moment you click:
Marking the Exact Issue
A single point pin is enough for most notes, but when a comment is about a region rather than one spot you can draw the shape that fits the problem before writing your note:
The shape you draw is saved onto the captured screenshot, so anyone reading the pin later sees your mark in place rather than a bare description.
Who Can See Your Pin
What happens to your pin depends on the access you were given on the project. Clients typically see only the comments they left themselves, while teammates and admins see every pin on the project. If you're on an open project, you can leave a pin without an account at all, and may optionally add your email afterward to receive follow-up when your feedback is acted on.
