Installing the Widget
The feedback widget is the small piece you add to your site so clients and teammates can click a spot and drop a pinned note. Once it's live, every pin automatically captures a screenshot, the page URL, the browser and the viewport, then flows straight into your project board.
Getting Your Install Snippet
Each project has its own install snippet tied to that project. When you open a project's widget setup, Pinpoint gives you a plan that names the exact place the code goes and the snippet to paste. To add it to your site:
Where the Snippet Goes
For a plain HTML site, the widget is a single script tag placed before the closing body tag. For a framework-based site, the install plan names the specific file to edit and the point in that file where the code belongs, so you don't have to guess. Add it once per site and it loads on every page where that markup is included.
Confirming the Widget Is Live
After you've published the change, verify the install so you know reviewers can start dropping pins. Pinpoint fetches the page and looks for this project's script tag to confirm it's actually loaded. By default it checks your project's configured site URL, but you can point the check at a specific page or a preview deployment instead.
After the Widget Is Installed
Once the widget is verified, open your live site and drop your first pin to confirm everything works end to end. From there you can invite clients and teammates, customize how the widget looks, and turn features on or off. If you'd rather not embed anything, the Chrome extension lets you leave and view pins on any site without adding code.
